There are lots of green spaces around the city and some great riverside walks. The Broads National Park makes for a great outdoorsy afternoon. Or hangout in the Plantation Garden: a great spot for lunch between lectures on a sunny day.

Parents coming for a visit? Don’t worry – there’s plenty to keep them (and you!) entertained, particularly if they’re paying!

Take in a play at the Maddermarket Theatre, a permanent recreation of a Shakespearean-style theatre. Or for something more contemporary, get a taste of London’s West End at the Theatre Royal or The Playhouse.

Culture vultures will also love the Norfolk & Norwich Festival in May. It’s been running for over 200 years and it’s one of the largest international arts festivals in Britain.

The Carrow Road football stadium, home to Norwich City FC (aka the Canaries) is just a 10-minute drive from your Yugo student accommodation. You might want to swot up on the oldest known football song before you go. It’s called ‘On The Ball City’ – Google it and start practising!

Local bus services connect the University of East Anglia to Duke Street. That means you’ve pretty much got a chauffeur service direct to the lecture theatre! And if you’re studying at the Norwich University of the Arts, St Crispin’s House is just a give-minute walk away.
