STUDYO Göttingen sits on Geismar Landstraße, with Georg-August-Universität Göttingen (University of Göttingen) right on your doorstep — an easy walk or cycle to lectures and the SUB library. 

You're also well placed for HAWK University (Hildesheim/Holzminden/Göttingen) and PFH Private University of Applied Sciences Göttingen, both a short commute away by bike or public transport. Wherever your course is based, you're never far from campus or the historic Altstadt.

It depends on your nationality. Students from many non-EU countries — typically need a German student visa (a national "D" visa) before arriving, followed by a residence permit once in Germany. 

Requirements vary by country and depend on factors like your admission letter, so always check with your local German embassy or consulate for the exact process and timeline. Applications can take several weeks to months, so start as early as possible.

Once booked, we can provide a confirmation of accommodation showing your room, address, and lease dates — often needed for visa applications or local registration. 

At check-in, you'll also receive your landlord confirmation (Wohnungsgeberbestätigung), required to register your residence (Anmeldung) and often for your residence permit. 

For the visa, you'll typically also need proof of financial means, most commonly a blocked account (Sperrkonto) — around €992/month as of 2026. This amount is set by German authorities and can change, so confirm the current figure with your embassy.

Yes — we'd recommend it. Many students book their room first and use the confirmed accommodation as part of their visa application, since embassies generally want proof of address in Germany. 

Booking early also means you won't be racing to find a room once your visa comes through, closer to semester start. If your application is ultimately unsuccessful, contact us as soon as possible to discuss your booking.

We offer in-person viewings every Tuesday and Thursday at 11:00 AM and 3:00 PM. You are welcome to simply come by at one of these times — no appointment or prior registration is required. Please note that digital/online viewings are currently not available. 

No. The entire booking and payment process must be completed online. We do not accept cash or process payments on site.

Our standard lease term is 6 months. In some cases, short-term stays may be available outside the regular semester start dates. Please contact us by email to check whether a shorter lease term is possible.

STUDYO Göttingen is exclusively for students with valid enrollment certificate.

The monthly rent includes all utilities, including heating, water, electricity, and Wi-Fi. You also have access to our gym and shared common areas.

All rooms at STUDYO Göttingen are fully furnished and include a private ensuite bathroom with shower, as well as a bed, built-in storage, desk and chair, and wardrobe. 

Our studios feature a private kitchenette with a fridge-freezer, microwave and induction hob. Our Ensuite Small but Mighty rooms have access to a shared kitchen with other tenants. Please note: bedding and kitchen utensils are not provided.

The standard security deposit is equal to two months’ rent. If you choose the regular deposit, you’ll find the IBAN and payment details in your rental agreement.
