How to Prepare for Life After University 💡
When you apply to live with us, you'll be asked to upload a few documents — things like your ID, proof of address, proof of funds, and your university offer letter. We use an internal tool called YuVerify to help our team check these documents efficiently and consistently.
YuVerify reads the documents you upload and checks whether the required information is present and readable — for example, that your name is clear, that an expiry date hasn't passed, or that a bank statement shows the details we need. It flags items for our team to look at and gives them a structured summary to work from.
In most cases a trained member of our team reviews the outcome. Where the tool is highly confident that a document meets the required criteria, it may confirm that document automatically — but any automatic confirmation is provisional: our team can review and change it, we run regular checks on these confirmations, and you can ask us to have any outcome reviewed by a person. YuVerify helps us work more quickly and consistently; it does not have the final say over your booking.
We're currently testing and refining how YuVerify works
YuVerify is being progressively introduced. We're using it to improve how our team reviews documents, and we're monitoring its accuracy carefully as we go. If we need anything from you, or if there's something we'd like you to check or resubmit, a member of our team will be in touch through the usual channels.
Your documents are stored and processed on secure cloud infrastructure based in the European Union (data centres in Ireland, operated by Amazon Web Services). They do not leave the EU as part of the YuVerify review process.
Your data protection rights apply in full — including the right to ask what information was extracted from your documents, ask for an explanation of an outcome, ask us to correct anything that's wrong, or raise a concern. To do any of this, email us at [email protected]. We'll get back to you within one calendar month, and usually much sooner.
