Yugo Sevilla Cartuja Recognized as ‘Best Learning Environment’ at the Global Student Living Awards 2025
Seville, October 31, 2025 - The Yugo Sevilla Cartuja student residence, located on Seville’s Isla de la Cartuja opposite the Higher Technical School of Engineering of the University of Seville, has been awarded Best Learning Environment (Europe) at the 2025 Global Student Living Awards held in London.
These awards, the most prestigious in the student accommodation sector, are based entirely on direct feedback from over 150,000 students across universities and educational institutions in the UK and Europe, making this recognition especially meaningful. The anonymous surveys evaluate key aspects such as the quality of facilities, customer service, value for money, sustainability, and overall satisfaction.
In this year’s edition, Yugo —the global student housing brand and operator with residences in Spanish cities including Madrid, Barcelona, Salamanca, Pamplona, Valencia, and Seville— also received the European awards for Best Customer Service (Europe), recognizing its excellence in student care and service quality, and Best Individual Property (Europe), awarded to Yugo Salamanca Luna.
An inspiring environment for learning and growth
The recognition of Yugo Sevilla Cartuja as Best Learning Environment highlights its commitment to creating a space where students can develop academically, personally, and socially. More than just accommodation, the residence offers a holistic experience designed to foster learning and personal growth.
With extensive study areas, a gym, cinema, games room, terrace, and pool, Yugo Cartuja combines high-quality facilities with a vibrant community atmosphere. It also features Yugo’s global Live Your Best Life (LYBL) program, focused on sustainability, personal development, and career guidance, helping students prepare for life beyond university.
The six-story building, with 232 individual rooms, stands on the historic grounds of the former United Nations Pavilion of Expo ’92. Its U-shaped design encourages connection with the School of Engineering and collaboration among residents, fostering a strong sense of community.
As part of Yugo — the world’s first global student housing brand and operator — Yugo Cartuja is part of a network of over 280 residences across 14 countries and more than 120 leading university cities worldwide. Globally, Yugo is the largest and most diversified student housing operator, providing homes for over 160,000 students. Its philosophy, “Live Your Best Life,” reflects a vision that goes beyond accommodation, empowering students to live a truly transformative university experience.
Simon Griffiths, SVP Operations Europe at Yugo, commented:
“This award is a testament to the power of listening. At Yugo, we maintain an ongoing dialogue with our global student community through regular anonymous surveys to truly understand what matters most to them. Their feedback guides everything we do — from celebrating what works to identifying areas for improvement — as we continue to create environments that inspire learning, connection, and personal development every day.”
