The Barbican is another must-see destination, featuring the UK’s largest aquarium and the oldest working gin distillery in England.
Around-The-Clock Cafe Scene
Beckley Point is right at the heart of all the most vibrant cafes, bars and restaurants in Plymouth. Caffeine Club is a student-favourite from morning until night, whether you want a light snack or a full pre-night-out feast. It’s open 24 hours so it’s a great place if you’re pulling an all-nighter for your studies and want to be around like-minded people. A bit further north you’ll find Goodbody’s cafe - another 24-hour venue - where you can try their legendary three-pint milkshakes.
Beach-Lover’s Delight
Plymouth has an amazing number of gorgeous beaches just a hop, skip and jump from your new home. Bovisand Beach is hugely popular with locals, especially if you fancy some snorkelling. A little further south is the picture-perfect Wembury Beach with amazing views out across the ocean. And if that isn’t enough, head west for the jaw-dropping Whitsand Bay - three miles of sandy beaches and dramatic cliffs. Your postcards home will be the envy of all your friends.
Spectacular Nightlife
When it comes to nightlife, you’re in luck - all the best clubs and late-night bars are within walking distance of Beckley Point. Pryzm is the biggest nightclub in the city, with four awesome rooms to dance the night away - head over on Mondays and Wednesdays for student nights. Q Bar is even closer - you can get there in under five minutes - and is hugely popular with students. Looking for something a little more sophisticated? Treasury Bar is a more upscale option, with a superb range of cocktails.
Perfect For Culture Vultures
If you’re a fan of live shows, the Theatre Royal Plymouth will become one of your regular spots.
