Most of London’s universities have finished freshers’ week. The freshers’ fair leaflets are all stuck on walls – or in the recycling bin – and the first nights of the year are over. But many students are still getting used to their surroundings and settling into their accommodation. Yes, there are still plenty of things for you to discover after the madness of freshers’ week, especially in your evenings after a hard day’s study, so let’s have a look at some of them.

Five Night-Time Things to Do in the Big Smoke

London Eye

You can get a bird’s eye view of the city from the iconic London eye – and now the wheel spins till 9.00pm so you see the night lights in all their glory: an unforgettable view.

Theatre

London is famous for its culture, and many students are attracted to its strong reputation as an arts hotspot. So while you’re here make the most of it. Visit the theatre! From Warhorse to Wicked to Rocky Horror Show – there’s always something on for you. Check websites like West End Theatre Bookings to get the best deals.

Music

London’s not short of music venues – and as a city has been home to thousands of musicians, from the award winning Bastille to MC and producer Dizzee Rascal. Over time many venues have popped up across the city, which you’ll have plenty of time to explore this year. A good place to start is the famous O2 Academy Islington: with acts suiting the rocker, the dancer or the stand still and bopper within you.

Nightbus

While being on a bus at night time might seem like an unattractive idea to some students, London by night is a treat for newcomers and old timers alike. See the city at night in the comfort and safety of a red double decker – trundling along past landmarks like the awesome Big Ben.

Comedy

There’s a surplus of laughs to be had in the city – so clearly there’s no deficit in the British sense of humour. Comedy greats and newbies come and go to the most famous venue The Comedy Store. But you can find alternative and new acts dotted in little venues around the city as well.

Live the Day, Love the Night

These are some of the best things you can do while you begin your London adventure. From your student accommodation in the City, there’s so much to explore. If you’re thinking about moving here, or you already live in our awesome private student accommodation in London, please get in touch at any time.
