Newcastle has more than 600 shops in the city centre alone so you’ll have plenty to choose from. For your everyday needs, there are the huge shopping centres – IntuEldon Square and the Intu Metrocentre (Europe’s largest shopping complex) in nearby Gateshead.

For regular high street stores you can head to Northumberland Street; if you’re looking for something a little more upmarket. For vintage finds and independent shops, the High Bridge Quarter is well worth a visit.
