If you’re living and studying in Dublin, then you’ll already know that the city is buzzing with life.
Student life shouldn’t be all work and no play, and that’s why we’ve decided to compile a list of some of the best upcoming Dublin events for students.

Paddy Power Comedy Festival
When and where: Iveagh Gardens, Thursday 21st July - Sunday 24th July
One of the most hilarious Dublin events is hitting Iveagh Gardens at the end of July.
Hosted by Paddy Power, the Comedy Festival will be hosting some of the biggest names in comedy for 4 nights of stand-up that you do not want to miss!
Amongst the big names performing are Irish legends Dylan Moran, Tommy Tiernan, and Foil Arms & Hog.
Definitely one of the best outdoor activities in Dublin to enjoy on those balmy summer evenings. So grab your friends and get hold of some tickets!

Fidelity Beer Festival
When and where: The Mansion House, Friday 15th July - Saturday 16th July
If you’re a fan of a tipple or two, then you’re going to love this.
The Fidelity Beer Festival is an annual event created by Whiplash & The Big Romance, and this year it promises to be one of the best Dublin events of the summer.
The best thing about this festival is that the ticket includes all your beer! Just arrive and check in, collect your glass at the door and head inside.
Once you’ve entered the festival, you can sample some of the top beers from sterling breweries, as well as some special beers created by Whiplash.
You won’t need to bring any extra cash, as your ticket acts as your pass. You can try different beers and chat away to the workers from each brewery.
Both days will present a unique selection of beers which you can enjoy while bopping away to DJs.
And, as faithful by name as by nature, the Fidelity organisers have proclaimed that as a token of their appreciation for their attendees that all tickets purchased for the postponed 2021 event remain valid this year.
Joe Lycett
When and where: Vicar Street, Thursday 4th August - Sunday 7th August
Joe Lycett, one of the UK’s most popular comedians, will be bringing his fabulous brand of comedic fashion to the stage this August in Vicar Street.
In what is his first tour in years, he’s bringing more fresh jokes, anecdotes and hilarious paintings to this Dublin event.
So if you like a laugh - and who doesn’t?! - get down to Vicar Street!
Potted Potter
When and where: The Helix, Tuesday 9th August - Saturday 13th August
Calling all Harry Potter fans!
Relive your childhood at this amazing Dublin event this August.
The Olivier award-winning ‘Potted Potter - The Unauthorised Harry Experience’ has been playing to sell out audiences around the world.
But what is it? It’s a Harry Potter parody by Daniel Clarkson and Jefferson Turner that rises to the ultimate challenge of condensing all seven Harry Potter books (and a real life game of Quidditch) into seventy magical minutes.
So put down your university books and pick up your wand and head to Hogwarts with this hilarious duo.
Madness
When and where: 3Arena, Saturday 6th August
Your mum’s faves Madness are hitting the stage in Dublin as part of their ‘Ladykillers Tour’.
The British pop giants will be doing what they do best – uniting the people for a right raucous live bash.
They’ll be regaling the audience with some of their old classics along with You’d be mad to miss it!
Big Grill Festival
When and where: Herbert Park, Dublin 4, 11th – 14th of August 2022.
Foodies will be delighted to hear that a massive barbeque is coming to Dublin.
The Big Grill is Europe’s largest BBQ festival, and will be one of the most mouthwatering outdoor activities in Dublin this year.
At the festival, you’ll see smoke, fire, chefs, cooks and pitmasters from Ireland, the UK and further afield.
You’ll join around 20,000 other visitors to learn about all kinds of barbecuing, grilling, smoking, vegetables, meats, delicacies…as well as having some drinks, of course!
The festival will host over 20 restaurants. All of them have to cook with live fire using natural charcoal and wood only, with no access to gas or electricity.
The point of the festival is to celebrate the art of cooking, and you’re sure to be impressed by the great atmosphere and the theatre of the weekend.
Space Jam Sessions
When and where: Bar Eilé, Wednesday, 1 June 2022 - Wednesday, 28 December 2022
If you’re into making music, you’re going to like these interactive Dublin events.
The weekly get-together is an opportunity for music lovers to jam and socialise.
So if you want to let your hair down after exam season has finished, grab your instrument and head over to the sessions from 20:30 onwards.
Urban Picnic
When and Where: Corkagh Park, Saturday, 11 June 2022 - Saturday, 30 July
If you fancy enjoying the summer sunshine at one of the most chilled outdoor activities in Dublin, check out this Food and Craft Market.
At the event you’ll find crafts stalls, artisan produce and lots of street food vendors to get your tastebuds working overtime.
Add to that fantastic live entertainment and you’ve got the perfect plan for a relaxing weekend in the university summer holidays.
Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra
When and Where: National Concert Hall, Monday 15th August
The Ukrainian Freedom Orchestra will be in Dublin for this historic concert. It’s their only performance in Ireland on their tour of Europe and the USA.
The orchestra was assembled by New York’s Metropolitan Opera and the Polish National Opera, and is made up of a combination of recent refugees, Ukrainian members of European orchestras, and some of the top musicians of Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Odesa, and elsewhere in Ukraine.
The military-age male members of the orchestra have received special dispensation from the Ukraine Ministry of Culture to participate, permitting them to down weapons and take up their instruments in a remarkable demonstration of the power of art over adversity.
It’s definitely sure to be one of the most moving and empowering events you’re likely to see, and all money raised from the tour will go to the ministry to support Ukrainian artists.
Swiftogeddon: The Taylor Swift Club Night
When and Where: The Grand Social, 12th August
Taylor Swift fans, take note: Swiftogeddon is coming!
