Places of Interest in Plymouth

Whether you’ve got a day off from uni and nothing to do, or your family are visiting for the weekend, there are plenty of good ways to spend a few hours.

On a damp day, the National Marine Aquarium, the largest aquarium in the UK, is a great place to be. With the student discount, you'll pay less to get in and you can spend a morning or afternoon getting to know some fascinating sea life. There are four different zones, which start with the waters of our very own Plymouth Sound.

For history buffs and culture vultures, the Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery is just a ten-minute walk away. And why not combine a trip there with a tipple? You can enjoy free tasters at the classic Black Friars Gin Distillery.

Of course on a hot summer's day, what's better than a day at the beach. But don't just lie there. Surf something! The University of Plymouth Surf Club has been named the best in Europe, so don't miss out the chance for some expert tuition.
