Lots of big events over the next three months. But these ones promise the best memories

Student life in the capital. We all know it’s never dull. But sometimes it can be hard to find the most interesting events through all the noise.

So we’ve put our mufflers on to find three of the loudest, coolest, and most intriguing. If you like a good story for your friends, you’d be super foolish to miss out on these. Let’s go.

Student Adventures in the Capital

1. April

So Easter weekend takes place Friday 3rd April until Monday 6th. It’s obviously a time for chocolate, but if you want to make it more memorable where should you go?

Think about London Dungeon.

Because instead of the traditional fare, the dungeons become home to Miss Edmund’s Victorian Sweetshop.

Here you can play Death by Chocolate and risk a mouthful of mustard powder, chilli or even strychnine (okay perhaps not really strychnine). Every guest on the first tour of the Easter holiday period gets a box of chocolates to take home.

Going from March 28th to April 12th, the event is included in the price of admission. And sometimes NUS card holders can get a discount, saving you a bit of money too.

2. May

2015’s May bank holiday gives you the 2nd to the 4th to get up to some new adventures. As lots of the city can be a bit drab, why not do something colourful?

The Canalway Cavalcade, a very British and slightly unusual event.

For this, the waterways of Little Venice become the home of vibrant personalities. About 130 boats, all traditionally coloured, come to the canal. Each moors up along the stretch of the Grand Union Canal between Bloomfield Road, Warwick Avenue and Warwick Crescent.

But you don’t have to bring a boat. Expect craft beer, Morris dancers, food stalls, and a bunch of other sights — plenty of chances for a good Instagram shot.

And best of all it’s completely free.

3. June

Summer. Festivals. There are many to go to abroad but there’s good reason to stay for one at home – because on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th at Victoria Park it’s Field Day. This festival has been getting bigger and better each year from 2007, when the first one took place.

And now its line-up pools from the latest indie and the coolest underground producers. This year has Mac DeMarco, Hookworms, FKA Twigs and Sophie, to name just a few.

But even with all these acts, when compared to the major festivals it’s much friendlier to your student budget. Day tickets are available from £38.50 and you can get a ticket for the whole weekend for £83. It’s sure to be one of the most fun events of the year.

Fun for Students in London

We can’t quite believe how much exciting stuff is coming up over the next few months. Imagine eating spooky chocolate, taking pictures by the canal, or getting your groove on to the latest and most exciting tunes.
